The Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee Vermont, will host a three-day weekend celebration of winter which includes two days of marathon skating. The races are called Skate Vermont at Lake Morey Resort.

Races will take place on scenic Lake Morey in the heart of the Green Mountains. Saturday's 25K and Sunday's 40K will be part of the MSI Points Series.

Important Rules
Slowest skaters will skate on the inside lane of the oval

The objective here is to:
  • Avoid accidents.
  • Let slower skaters improve their times.
  • Eliminate the need for faster skaters to call out for "track"
  • Avoid erratic moves across the width of the oval.
It is important taht these rules be respected.

Skaters Number
Place your number on the right thigh so it can be seen by the timers.

Electronic Chips
Please return your chip immediately after the event. If you are only doing the 25Km, please return it immediately. You must use the same chip for the entire competition; no other chip will be handed out.
Skaters are responsible to return their chip or pay the USD 120 replacement cost.
Skaters are also responsible to wear their chip to ensure that their time is recorded.

  • Lodging
     
    Lake Morey Resortis offering registered skaters a discount on room rates for a limited number of rooms and for a limited time.
    The Marathon Skater overnight room rate is $85 plus tax, per night, for single or double occupancy.
    A triple is available for $95; a room for four is $105.

    The Resort will hold 35 rooms for skaters until January 8. After that, rooms are based on availability, at the higher rate of $99 single or double, $109 triple and $119 quad. When making réservations, please identify yourself as a racer. The ressort requires a $50 deposit to guarantee an overnight room réservation. In the event the ice isn't safe and we can't race, you will receive a full refund.
