An exciting weekend combining citizen races for the whole family with
elite events for skaters from all over the US & Canada. Seven different distances spread over four
days: 1K to 100K. Try one or skate all seven! The setting is a groomed outdoor ice track on spectacular
Lake Morey in the
heart of Vermont's Green Mountains. Sponsored by
The Nordic Skater.
The Vermont Ice Marathon and US National Speedskating Championships are open to all
amateur athletes. Due to a scheduling conflict caused by this event being postponed to Feb. 18-19 after the warm weather
in January, timing will be performed the traditional way, by hand.
- Race Location
Races will be held outdoors on a natural ice track on Lake Morey in Fairlee, Vermont.
Monday's 100-km tour will be on a 5-kilometer track on Lake Morey.
Nearby ovals at Deweys Pond in Quechee, Vermont and
Occom Pond in Hanover, New Hampshire will also be available for training.
Call the Marathon Hotline at (802) 649-3939 for up-to-date race information and ice conditions.
