Marathon Skating International

Become a member of MSI and help support our goal of getting the word out and attracting more skaters to the wonderful sport of long-distance outdoor ice skating. It's easy to join: just sign up when you participate at any of the races on the MSI calendar. When you participate at any race with electronic timing furnished by MSI, visit the time-keeper at the end of the race and ask for a printout of your individual lap-times. This service is free to MSI members, $2/race for non-members.

In our first year (2004-2005) MSI launched a bilingual website, organized an 11-Race Point Series in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, New York and Vermont, purchased a state-of-the art electronic timing system (AMB from Holland), and acquired an impressive trophy to celebrate the male and female winners of the Point Series. All of this was achieved by our member/volunteers.

While helping race organizers provide exciting and satisfying events for all participants, MSI hopes to convince skaters who never race and non-skater athletes from other disciplines to give marathon skating a try.
