2011 Lake Placid Marathon

Skaters in the Lake Placid Marathon will race on the historic
Olympic Oval, originally built for the 1932 Winter Olympics (photo, left). This year's 25K and 40K events will be part of the MSI Points Series, with chip-timing courtesy of MSI.

REGISTRATION
Please register online by visiting the MSI Events page (use the menu, left of this page), then click the 'Register' link for the Lake Placid marathon. Online registration closes at 4 PM on Friday, December 16. A $5 fee will be added to skater's total fee for late, on-site registration. Check in to the marathon and up your bib, etc., on Friday night at The Northwoods Inn.
FEES- Payment during marathon check-in at The Northwoods Hotel on Friday night, or at the oval on race day (please arrive early; we prefer Friday night check-in)
* 10K = $10
* 25K or 40K = $40
* Combination of 2 distances = $70
* Combo, 3 distances = $75
Payable in US currency only or via PayPal (instructions provided after online registration)
GENERAL RULES
1. Slow skaters must skate inside the track.
2. Passing must be done on the right (outside).
3. Drafting is permitted even if you have been passed by the lead pack.
LODGING
The Northwoods Inn, 2520 Main Street in Lake Placid, is the Official Hotel and sponsor of the 2011 Lake Placid Marathon. It is a short walk up the hill from the Olympic oval. Features include:

- Breakfast available at your own expense
$65 per room, single or double occupancy
$75 room with Kitchenette
