The 5th annual Bytown Marathon races will be held at the Brewer Park Oval in Ottawa, Ontario on January 16 and 17. This year, we will skate the tradition 25 km race, but we have replaced the 40 km race with a 75-minute challenge, where the winner will be the skater who covers the greatest distance in a fixed time. We will also include a 10 km race. Results of the 25 km and 75-minute challenge will count towards the MSI Points Series.

Important Rules
Slowest skaters will skate on the inside track of the oval. This will:
- Avoid accidents.
- Let slower skaters improve their times.
- Eliminate the need for faster skaters to call out or each time they pass
- Avoid erratic moves across the width of the oval.
We ask all skaters to ensure that they respect these rules.
Skaters Number
Place your number on the right thigh so it can be seen by the timers.
Electronic Chips
Please return your chip immediately after you are finished your FINAL race of the weekend. If you are skating more than one race, you will use the same chip for each race. No other chip will be handed out.
You are responsible for returning the electronic chip. You are also responsible to wear it during the race to ensure that we are able to record your finishing time in the results.
We ask all skaters to respect these rules
